Steel futures edge up on steel production cuts
Market confidence in future production cuts was enhanced by restrictions in Jiangsu and Guangxi on Tuesday. As a result, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures edged up, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the October rebar contract closed CNY 33/tonne higher than Monday at CNY 5,601/t ($864/t), and the same contract for HRC closed up CNY 42/t at CNY 5,968/t.
