Steel futures edge down with coke price cuts
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil moved down slowly on Monday after Friday’s rare rebound, since the whole market is still bearish, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2024 rebar contract closed at CNY 3,363/tonne ($463/t) on Monday, down CNY 8/t from the prior trading day. The same contract for HRC lost CNY 33/t to CNY 3,524/t.
