Steel futures continue slight recovery on macro boost
Spurred by positive signals from a meeting chaired by president Xi Jinping on Tuesday night, Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures continued to recover slightly after being hit by financial panic at the start of the week, Kallanish notes.
On the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the most-traded October 2022 rebar contract closed CNY 35/tonne higher than Tuesday at CNY 4,864/t ($741.5/t), and the same contract for HRC closed up CNY 41/t at CNY 4,948/t.
