Steel Asia resumes rebar production
Steel Asia, a major steel producer in the Philippines, has resumed rebar production at the Meycauayan and Calaca plants in Luzon, Kallanish notes. This is primarily because the Philippine government relaxed quarantine conditions for Luzon in May.
The Meycauayan plant is located in Ciudad Industria, Barrio Bahay Pari Meycauayan City Bulacan at Centre Luzon. It operates two rebar rolling mills with a total capacity of 450,000 tonnes/year.
