Standard pipe makers look for hot-rolled confidence boost
A53 standard pipe pricing has not yet benefited from rising skelp prices, Kallanish learns from US market sources.
Kallanish puts A53 at $690-710/st, down from the $700-720/st level it’s occupied for the last several weeks.
Recent hot-rolled coil price increases have yet to affect pipe maker’s skelp inventories, and they’ll have to firm up before mills gain enough confidence to announce their own increases, one mill source says.
