Stahl Gerlafingen installs solar plant
Beltrame’s Swiss mill, Stahl Gerlafingen, will in future source power from solar energy. To that purpose, it has signed an agreement with local utility cooperative ADEV Energiegenossenschaft.
ADEV will build a photovoltaic system consisting of 4,500 modules, with a capacity of 2 megawatts on the roof of the rolling mill hall, Kallanish learns from the maker of rebar and merchant bar. It will be solely used for the mill’s own power consumption.
