Weak demand suppresses steel futures
Chinese rebar and hot rolled coil futures prices rose through trading on Monday, but still closed lower than the previous trading day on 31 December. Stable supply coupled with declining demand prevented these prices from joining Monday's carnival in financial markets, Kallanish notes.
