SSAB profit wanes in US, Europe
SSAB saw revenue and profit decrease in the second quarter compared to a year earlier, primarily due to lower US heavy plate prices, Kallanish notes. The Swedish steelmaker expects most customer sectors to remain flat, with some further slowdown in construction/construction machinery, but good demand from renewables.
