SSAB plans quench-and-temper upgrade at Mobile
Nordic steelmaker SSAB plans to invest just under $110 million to increase its quench-and-temper (Q&T) steel capacity in Mobile, Alabama, by 100,000 tonnes, Kallanish learns from a company release.
The Mobile facility has an extant capacity of 300,000t. The investments are slated for the 2019-2021 timeframe, and SSAB estimates that the cost-savings produced by the investments will be earned back within four years.
