SSAB, Nucor move up on plate
US steelmakers SSAB Americas and Nucor have pushed plate base prices up by $50/short ton, market sources tell Kallanish.
The increases are effective on all carbon and alloy plate grades.
One buyer says the move was unexpected, given relatively weak overall demand.
