Turkish mills shun scrap offers as margins tighten
Turkish steelmakers have made a quiet start to scrap purchasing this week after last week’s retreat from the market.
There were no deep-sea purchases heard last week. Only a few short-sea cargoes were booked. A3 from Rostov was sold at $281/tonne cfr Turkey, while HMS 1&2 80:20 from the Adriatic was sold at $271/t cfr Aliağa. “Other short-sea suppliers will most probably also agree to sell at $270/t cfr this week if they can find buyers,” say…
