Spindo moderates expectations
Steel Pipe of Indonesia (Spindo) does not expect to see much improvement in profit this year and is still struggling to boost capacity utilisation. it saw profits shrink in the first quarter of 2018, despite higher revenues, Kallanish notes.
The pipe maker has 588,000 tonnes/year of capacity but expects to produce 330,000 tonnes in 2018. It did not confirm production in 2017 but it had previously targeted an increase in output to 412,000-441,000t last year.…
