Energy costs lift Spanish rebar prices, market unpredictable
Spanish mills have been forced to increase their domestic rebar prices this week, Kallanish notes. This is mainly because of high energy costs and persisting firm raw material prices.
ArcelorMittal and Celsa Spain have sent notes to domestic distributors and purchasers confirming the rebar price increase. Other steelmakers are also evaluating their policies in the short term, arguing that the situation is difficult to handle due to high production costs.
