Spain’s Megasa limits production to nights, weekends
Megasa has reduced the operation of its main electric arc furnace-based plant, located in Naron, northwest Spain, to nights, weekends and holidays to make use of lower electricity rates.
The decision was announced last week by the company and implemented at the beginning of this week. Kallanish understands the new production schedule should remain in place until spring but it should have no impact on the workforce.
