Spanish scrap prices continue rising
Spanish scrap prices have increased almost €20/tonne ($23.9) this week. The market expects the upward trend to continue until the beginning of July and then to normalise, Kallanish notes.
“The large steel mills are trying to keep prices low,” a local merchant confirms. “They believe that in July levels will calm down. Meanwhile, suppliers are still looking to close deals at higher prices.”
