South32’s metallurgical coal production falls in FY24
Australian miner South32’s Illawarra metallurgical coal saleable production fell in the financial year ended 30 June, 2024 (FY24), as the operation completed three planned longwall moves and commenced a fourth planned move in the June quarter, Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a statement that its total coal production decreased by 24% year-on-year to 4.94 million tonnes in FY24.
