South32's GEMCO remains temporarily suspended
Australian miner South32 says operations at Groote Eylandt Mining Company (GEMCO) in Australia remain temporarily suspended due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Megan.
Its workforce is safe and there have been no recordable injuries to personnel at the operations, Kallanish notes from the firm’s statement.
As weather conditions have eased on the Eylandt, it says access to key infrastructure has been restored to enable an initial assessment of impact.…
