South32 turns loss-making in FY23
Perth-based miner South32 has recorded $173 million in losses after tax in the Fiscal Year 2023, compared to profits after tax of $2.669 billion in FY2022, following the recognition of a non-cash impairment expense of $1.3 billion in relation to the Taylor zinc-lead-silver deposit.
The company's underlying earnings meanwhile decreased from $2.602 billion in FY2022 to $916 million in FY2023, due to lower commodity prices and uncontrollable cost impact…
