South32 foresees continued South Africa lower-quality manganese sales
South32 is guiding for attributable manganese ore production of 2 million tonnes from its South Africa Manganese joint venture in the fiscal year through June 2021 (FY21). This compares to output of 1.88mt in FY20.
The firm says sales of lower-quality fines product and use of trucking should continue, subject to market conditions. Operating unit cost is seen at $2.25/dmtu, unchanged on-year.
