South Korea's Hyundai books bulk scrap cargoes
South Korea’s Hyundai Steel recently ordered bulk scrap cargoes from the USA and Russia, Kallanish notes.
The steelmaker ordered 45,000 tonnes early last week from the US West Coast at $625/tonne cfr South Korea HMS 1 basis. The cargo is due for May shipment.
Hyundai also ordered a May-shipment cargo of Russian A3 grade scrap at $620/t cfr in the past 1-2 weeks. Traders say that such Russian cargoes typically contain 20,000t.
