South Korea’s domestic rebar production, sales break 10mt
South Korean rebar production and sales each broke the 10 million tonnes barrier in 2021, mainly due to a strong recovery in the construction sector, Kallanish notes.
Despite a slight decline in the country’s total production capacity, annual rebar production rose 9.7% year-on-year to 10.32mt, according to data from the Korea Iron & Steel Association (KISA).
