South Korean first-half steel production mounts
Supported by a steel demand recovery in their main consuming industries, South Korean steelmakers achieved better sales in both domestic and overseas markets in the first half of 2021. Half-year crude steel output was up 8.3% year-on-year to 35.2 million tonnes, Kallanish notes.
