South Korea sees steady steel exports, climbing imports
South Korea’s iron and steel exports were stable in October, while imports jumped faster from September, although both fell on a year-on-year basis, according to data provided by Korean Customs.
Monthly exports of iron and steel under HS code chapters 72 and 73 were 2.15 million tonnes, up 1.5% month-on-month but down 8.6% y-o-y. This took total exports over ten months through October to 23.13mt, which fell by 4.8% from a year earlier, Kallanish learns.
