South Kaveh Steel ramps up to full capacity
Iran's South Kaveh Steel (SKS) recorded billet sales of 709,000 tonnes in the ten months through 20 January from production of 741,000t. Direct reduced iron output reached 1.29 million tonnes in the period.
Liquid steel output reached 101,000t in the month, which means SKS’s 1.2 million tonnes/year electric arc furnace meltshop – commissioned in late 2015 – has ramped up to and exceeded full capacity.
