South American steel production grows in April
South American crude steel production increased in April, according to worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish. Mexican output, however, was not in line with this improvement.
South American crude steel output totalled 3.77 million tonnes in April, 4.8% more over the previous month and 70.9% higher year-on-year. January-April production amounted to 14.71mt, 18.2% more than in January-April 2020.
