South American, Mexican steel production fall in June
South American crude steel production decreased on-year in June, according to the latest World Steel Association (worldsteel) data monitored by Kallanish.
The region's crude steel output totalled 3.56 million tonnes in June, down -3.1% over the same period in 2018. In the first half of the year crude steel production amounted to 21.49mt, a decrease of -3% over H1 2018.
