South America crude steel output falls in April
Crude steel output in South America fell by -18% year-on-year in April to 3 million tonnes. Output in the first four months of 2016 shrunk by -14.2% y-o-y to 12.6mt, Kallanish learns from the World Steel Association (worldsteel).
Brazil remains the region’s main producer, with 2.3mt of April output, down -20.6% y-o-y, and -14% less output in January-April at 9.7mt.
