South Africa’s steelmaking raw materials export income shrinks
South African steelmaking mineral export income was down 7.7% on-year to ZAR 25.3 billion ($1.6 billion) in January-February on a for (free on rail) basis. However, export quantity grew 3.5% on-year to 13.56 million tonnes.
The two-month income decline is due to softened unit average iron ore prices during the two months against the same period in 2021.
