Ferroalloys surge lifts South Africa’s ferrous exports
South Africa’s ferrous exports in January-August rose 18.2% on-year to 4.14 million tonnes, from 3.5mt last year, driven mainly by a surge in ferroalloys, according to Statistics report obtained by Kallanish.
Eight-month flat products (HS codes 7208-7212) exports were up 26.7% on-year to 296,800t, but longs (HS 7213-7217) exports decreased by 11.4% to 267,924t.
