South Africa’s Scaw Metals to produce HRC
Scaw Metals Group, acquired by Barnes Group in 2018, has contracted Danieli Service to expand its steel product portfolio and capacity by investing in a new, brownfield hot strip project in Johannesburg, notes Kallanish.
Barnes Group will use the output as feedstock for its downstream electric resistance welded (ERW) pipe mill and offer the balance in the domestic merchant market and to re-rollers.
