South Africa temporarily bans scrap exports
South Africa has banned exports of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap for a period of two months from 3 July. The move is designed to address the shortage of affordable domestic scrap supply and allow the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) to investigate whether the price preference system is achieving objectives.
