South Africa reviews downstream steel products' customs duties
The International Trade Commission (ITAC) of South Africa has initiated a review on the rates of customs duty of various downstream steel products, including wire and steel tube fittings.
In an official gazette filing seen by Kallanish, ITAC says it has initiated the probe because the entire Southern African Customs Union (SACU) steel value chain is negatively impacted by the “…global steel crisis.”
