South Africa permits mining sector operation at 50%
South Africa has permitted the mining sector to operate at up to 50% capacity utilisation during the nationwide lockdown against Covid-19. Last week the lockdown was extended until the end of April.
The country’s cooperative governance and traditional affairs ministry says operations thereafter will be permitted “… at increasing capacity as determined by direction issued by the Cabinet member responsible for mineral resources and energy.”
