South Africa electricity tariff hike seen hampering steel recovery
The National Electricity Regulator of South Africa (Nersa)’s approval of further tariff increases would be a critical setback for the metals and engineering sector’s competitiveness, according to the Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (Seifsa). South African power provider Eskom applied for the tariff increases.
