SMS upgrades Calvert galvanizing ops
Engineering company SMS Group is updating the equipment at ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel’s Calvert, Alabama, US facility.
The update includes an upgrade to the facility’s galvanizing line to handle automotive steel grades, including AHSS steels. No financial details were released.
Commissioning is expected to be complete by the end of this year, Kallanish notes.
