SMS revamps ArcelorMittal slab caster in Aviles
German turnkey contractor SMS Group has won a contract to revamp a two-strand bow-type slab caster at ArcelorMittal in Aviles, northern Spain, the equipment supplier tells Kallanish. The works will be focused on rebuilding the caster into a vertical bending machine, the company says.
The German company has also been awarded the revamp of the site’s caster no.2, which will be completed in a second phase, the company states.
