Sluggish pipe business hits Germany’s HKM, possibly others
Duisburg mill Hüttenwerke Krupp-Mannesmann (HKM) in Germany may reduce its output in early 2016 as volumes have been cancelled by its customers, mainly by pipemaker Vallourec, Kallanish learns.
HKM's sole customers are its owners, thyssenkrupp, Salzgitter and Vallourec. According to local press reports, all of them have reduced their orders by 100,000 tonnes/month in total. HKM’s capacity is up to 440,000t per month.
