SKS launches new EAF

South Kaveh Steel (SKS) has carried out the first melt at its new 1.2 million tonnes/year capacity electric arc furnace. Commercial production is scheduled to begin by mid-August, a company source tells Kallanish. The plant will double the Iranian firm’s billet production capacity to 2.4m t/y.
