China's Siping Xiandai resumes production
Northeastern China’s Siping Xiandai Iron & Steel resumed production at two 450 cubic metre blast furnaces on the evening of 18 May, with an estimated annual 1.1 million tonnes/year of iron capacity. Siping Xiandai mainly produces rebar and wire rod.
With long product profit margins expanding over recent weeks it only took two weeks for Siping to complete the preparation work to restart the furnaces, Kallanish notes.
