SIMEC's Tahmoor mine gains federal approval
SIMEC Mining's Tahmoor Coal mine southwest of Sydney has been granted federal government environmental approval for its expansion project, Kallanish notes.
SIMEC Mining plans to extract 33 million tonnes of run-of-mine coal over ten years from 12 new longwall panels to the south of its existing operations at the mine. The current operations are due to end in 2022, with the approval now extending the mine life until 2032.
