Sierra Metals builds Mexico iron ore processing plant
Canadian-based Sierra Metals (SMT) says it will provide $28 million for the building of an iron ore processing plant at its Bolivar mine in Mexico, Kallanish learns from the miner. The investment includes an initial expenditure of $5.2m for early procurement and contracting on the project.
The plant, located in the Chihuahua State, is expected to have an annual production capacity of 500,000 tonnes of iron ore with 62% Fe content.
