Siemens, Gamesa announce giant wind power merger
Germany’s Siemens and Spain’s Gamesa have announced the merger of their wind power businesses into the world’s largest wind power company, with a combined 69GW installed capacity, Kallanish Steel’s sister publication Kallanish Energy reports.
Under the deal, Siemens will own 59% of the new business, leaving Gamesa with 41% and a €1 billion ($1.13 billion) cash payment for its assets.
