Sidor resumes wire rod production amid workers' arrests
Venezuelan state-owned steelmaker Siderúrgica del Orinoco (Sidor) says it has resumed wire rod production from 23 June, Kallanish learns from the company. This was supported by the restart of operations at its pellet line A and billet reheating furnace.
Long steel output at the plant remained halted for more than three months due to an upgrade of the main equipment but also because of a shortage of raw materials and workforce protests.
