Shyam Steel gets IPO approval, plans expansion
Shyam Steel (SSIL) has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India for its initial public offering, according to Indian press reports monitored by Kallanish.
The Indian steelmaker submitted its prospectus for the IPO in June. In it the firm informed it intends to increase aggregate iron and steel production capacity to 2.29 million tonnes/year from its current 1.59m t/y, with captive power capacity rising to 61MW from 25MW. This w…
