SHP first-quarter shipments grow, profit falls
Peru’s sole iron ore producer, Shougang Hierro Perú (SHP), saw shipments and net sales increase in the first quarter, Kallanish learns from the company’s latest earnings report. The miner’s net profit, however, fell.
“The company’s profit deteriorated due to the decrease in iron ore prices from January to March, despite large volumes sold,” SHP says.
