Shougang Tonggang operates new coke oven
Tonghua Iron & Steel, part of Shougang Group, put its No.3 coke oven into operation this week.
The steelmaker started project construction at the end of October 2021. The construction content includes a 50-oven 6-meter top-loading coke battery, and a 140 tonnes/hour CDQ (Coke Dry Quenching) and 25MW power generation device.
Coke production capacity of this new oven can reach 427,000 tonnes/year, Kallanish notes.
