Shougang produces autosheet through high-scrap BF-BoF
Chinese steelmaker Shougang Jingtang has recently achieved the production of galvanized auto plate by using 50% scrap inputs through the BF-BoF route, Kallanish notes.
The product is used to make the sides of cars, with a width of up to 2,050 millimetres. “This can support users to carry out more cutting-edge parts design,” Shougang Jingtang adds.
In order to achieve the target of 50% scrap input, the company also used 55% pellet in its ironmaking.
