Shortage, demand continue to buoy Italian pig iron
Italian pig iron prices are forecast to increase next week to over $600/tonne cfr Italy due to global shortages and booming demand from Italian buyers.
Only a couple of CIS producers are currently selling small vessels to Italy. Last week, transactions from these firms were reported at increased prices of some $580/t cfr Italy, up from the previously heard level of $560/t cfr Italy.
