US sheet prices slip, increases on the way
A new round of US sheet price hikes appears to be in the works, but market sources are divided as to how effective they will be, Kallanish reports.
California Steel Industries (CSI) led off with a $30/short ton increase on Friday, followed by Nucor on Monday. The moves presupposed a positive ruling on President Donald Trump’s section 232 investigation into the merits of national security-related tariffs on steel, says one West Coast buyer.
