Zhongjin commissions 100% coke oven gas DRI plant
China’s Shanxi-based Zhongjin Metallurgical Technology Co., Ltd. put its hydrogen-based shaft furnace DRI plant into production in the last month of 2022.
The company states that this is the world’s first device of its kind to run on 100% coke oven gas and to achieve mass production.
The capacity is designed as 300,000 tonnes/year of DRI. Currently, the facility could produce 800-900 tonnes/day, Kallanish learns.
